Cactus and desert sands? Casinos? Sandstone and sedimentary rock? This media console reminds me of the wild wild west...the desert southwest. This piece features one large compartment (with adjustable shelf) on the left for audio receivers, gaming consoles, media PC’s, record players, etc. Two drawers on the right for other living room/great room/den needs.

The massive roundover box joinery on the case is absolutely a technique that I will use in future furniture. The gradient fade from long grain color to the darker end grain color is space-agey and wild. The effect almost makes the joinery look fake!

This version of “Rio” actually resides in my very own home where my young kids draw on it with marker and regularly spill colored liquids on it. Life is messy!

Each piece is finished with a protective oil and hardwax blend for a beautiful and warm matte finish. Finish will not water-spot.
