"The Mountaineer" Black Walnut Side Table

I did not think I could have been more excited when “The Mountaineer” was requested in black walnut… Until of course the client reached out to have two additional matching Mountaineer tables made in a miniature size as end tables. These end tables are in the room adjacent to the matching dining table and help you visually transition through the open concept of the house. I will always love this design and plan to build a Mountaineer for my own dining room.

Made with black walnut from the same tree, you can see that the color matching is excellent. The contrasting stripes between the long-grain and end-grain of the finger joints is so fun and I can just stare at joinery like this for hours.

This piece is finished with a satin polyurethane for a beautiful and warm glow. Finish will not water-spot.
