I have often made the bold claim that ash is the new walnut, and “Mojave” is an example of why I say that, ha! Ash comes in nearly unlimited colors and figures, which is why I love it so much in certain applications. Good color-matching is always a challenge in any furniture, but as shown in this king bed it can truly be a feature.

This bed design is my own slightly modified take on the “Matera” Bed designed by Sean Yoo for “Design Within Reach”. A client came to me with a photograph of this bed and asked me to make a very similar version with different dimensions.

Check out the hand cut mortise and tenon joinery in the headboard and footboard which make for an incredibly strong construction. The bed is made of 4 main components: the footboard, the headboard, and the box springs (2 pieces). This makes moving the bed easy.

There are 6 drawers for tons of storage, each of which are 30” L x 24” W x 7” D

Each piece is finished with a protective oil and hardwax blend for a beautiful and warm matte finish. Finish will not water-spot.
