"Milk & Honey" Round White Oak Dining Table
(SOLD)
-----
“Milk & Honey” is quite a showcase of beautiful, good ole’ American white oak. Since there are hundreds of oak species, with half of them white, the color spectrum and unique figuring of the wood can be rather diverse. This piece makes no exception to that diversity, with half a dozen colors and some wild figuring in the legs.
Not only was the wood white oak, but this piece was finished off with Rubio Monocoat’s pigmented oil color “White.” Which is what inspired the pieces name. White pigment soaked into the grain of the wood giving an interesting mixture of white and honey coloring. Often called “cerused oak” My first table with pigmented oil, and I definitely plan to incorporate color like this more in the future.
Check out the hand cut mortise and tenon joinery in the legs which make for an incredibly strong construction that will last lifetimes.
This piece also marks the first to be photographed in new new studio space which I moved to in the East State Village of Fort Wayne, IN during January 2020. The wall of windows in the front of the studio make taking photos here…well, quite easy!
The table roomy for four guests in these photos, but you could easily squeeze in up to seven or eight.
Each piece is finished with a protective oil and hardwax blend for a beautiful and warm matte finish. Finish will not water-spot.
Dimensions (w/ legs):
